Safety Vests
Safety vests not only protect your employees from dangerous impact, they also augment visibility in dark or poorly illuminated working conditions. If you are working in a large warehouse or in a dimly-lit work environment then knowing where other workers are located will protect them as well as yourself. In addition to being a strong visual clue, a safety vest can also serve to protect employees from workplace dangers.
Built-In Support
Most of us are familiar with the safety vests worn by roadside crews that contain fluorescent coloring warning us of street work. While these are considered traditional vests, there are also a number of products that provide back support for workers lifting or moving heavy objects. Proper lifting technique should always be followed but having the extra back aid will allow employees to work freely and not worry about experiencing painful back injuries.
Classes of Safety Vests
Vests are commonly grouped into four categories, mesh, class one, class two and class three. Each class of vest has specific workplace uses designed to protect workers. For example, class one vests offer lower visibility and should be used in parking lots, warehouses or places where low speed limits are posted. On the other hand, class two vests can be used by railroad or road construction personnel where speeds are greater, as they provide greater visibility.
If you are unsure which vest or vests you need, All Safety Products, Inc. will be happy to assist you in selecting the right vest and supplying your company with the recommended materials. Vests are available in several colors and can be outfitted with single or multiple stripes depending on what the occupational environment requires. Most vests are one-size-fits-all but can include snap fronts for varying sizes. For help in choosing the proper vest, feel free contact All Safety Products, Inc. to learn what options are offered.
