Nomex® and Indura® Protective Clothing
Nomex® IIIA Protective Wear
Known for its flame resistance, Nomex® IIIA is the best apparel choice for
electric arc and flash fire protection. Nomex® IIIA is an inherently
flame-resistant aramid and static-dissipative fiber blend manufactured only by
DuPont. The actual structure of the fiber itself is not flammable, which means
the protection is permanent, unchanged by laundering and dry cleaning. When
exposed to flame, the aramid fiber swells and becomes thicker, forming a
protective barrier between the heat source and the skin. Nomex® IIIA will not
melt, drip, burn or support combustion and it resists breaking open, giving the
wearer vital extra seconds to escape the hazardous situation.
Indura® Protective Wear
Indura® Proban 100% cotton flame-resistant fabric is designed to be
self-extinguishing upon removal from flame or high heat ignition sources. Indura®
combines the comfort and durability of cotton with progressive technology in
flame-resistance treatment and finishing. The result is a fabric guaranteed to
be self-extinguishing for the useful service life of a garment when washed by
appropriate industrial laundry procedures. Indura® provides the wearer needed
seconds to reactto an accidental exposure to a thermal source to allowtime to
escape. |
