EarplugsHearing protection is highly recommended for use in noisy working conditions. Though employee exposure to loud noises may not initially seem harmful, over time it can lead to a serious loss of hearing. To protect the ears of employees and prolong their hearing by many years, earplugs are recommended.
Loud noises can be found in all sorts of professions. Noise from firearms, rocket engines, jet engines, and large sirens are the worst for ears, for these sounds occur at a 130 to 160 decibel range. Diesel or airplane engines, hydraulic press machines, drop forge hammers, chipping hammers, and turbines are a close second with a 115 to 130 decibel range. Some other potentially harmful noises come from construction blasts, drills, milling machines, air compressors, circular saws, routers, speed hammers, and other heavy machinery. Even attending concerts can damage the ears.
Noise Reduction Ratings (NRR) have been established for earplugs. Earplugs with higher ratings provide a higher level of protection for the ears. So, the earplugs with high ratings will block more sound than those with lower ratings. However, in addition to determining the correct NNR rate, you will need to check the fit of earplugs before ordering them in mass quantities. Earplugs should be comfortable, and you should also make sure to choose a durable brand.
Here at All Safety Products, we carry many different types of earplugs that come in a range of NRR ratings. A popular choice for earplugs is the super-soft foam plugs. They are comfortable, reusable, and they conform to the inner ear canal, providing a high NRR rating. Our earplugs may have a corded, push-in, blast in, classic, or camouflage design. Other choices for blocking sound include canal caps, earmuffs, and helmets.
